This was my first TV campaign, as evidenced by the brick phones. The brief was about winning the holidays by giving the best gift. That doing that — would make you a champion. There were a lot of funny ideas in the deck based on sports analogies. We went the super hero route.
Darick Robertson, co-creator of the comic Transmetropolitan, helped us create the characters and we got to work with BSSP writer-turned-director Ryan Ebner. He helped us cram lots of product into each spot while keeping the humor alive for Radioshack's biggest campaign of the year.
